Minister of Housing, Spatial Planning and the Environment finds out more about micro CHP
The Minister of Housing, Spatial Planning and the Environment, Jacqueline Cramer, today visits the house of Hans Overdiep, Energy Transition Manager for gas trading company GasTerra, in Haren, to find out more about the micro combined heat and power unit. A prototype of this newly developed central heating boiler, which generates electricity as well as heat, has been trialled in the house for more than a year. Mr Overdiep will tell the minister how the boiler works and bring her up to date with the latest developments in high efficiency energy output. The micro CHP is seen as the successor to the high efficiency boiler and can substantially cut energy consumption and CO2 emissions. The visit forms part of a programme of visits throughout Groningen and Friesland to view presentations of energy initiatives in the northern Netherlands (Energy Valley).
