Gasunie Trade & Supply, the trade branch of N.V. Nederlandse Gasunie, starts offering gas for sale on the TTF (Title Transfer Facility) as of today. The company is taking this step in response to developments in the Northwest European gas market.
Gasunie Trade & Supply will be trading calender months gas on the TTF with professional national and international trading parties as a new product in addition to the existing supply contracts which have a minimum duration of one year. The first deliveries under a month contract can begin on 1 January 2005.
The trading on the TTF is initially intended as a pilot for a limited duration and with a limited volume. The eventual position of the TTF in the portfolio of Gasunie Trade & Supply will depend, among other things, on the development of the gas demand in this spot market and through the existing sales channels.
Gasunie Trade & Supply believes that by taking this step it will meet a growing demand in the Northwest European market and expects to provide existing and new clients with an extra service.
