GasTerra Energy Lab
For the second year running GasTerra is taking part in 'Sustainable Tuesday'; an initiative which aims to link the public and politics. The Sustainable Tuesday organisation has been collecting sustainable ideas proposed by members of society for 14 years now. Anyone can join in and suggest an idea.
GasTerra is specifically looking for creative ideas to reduce energy demand, promote the use of sustainable energy (possibly in combination with gas), reduce CO2 emissions or increase energy yield from fossil fuels. Anyone who has a good idea should submit it before 1 July 2012. All the initiatives will be read and assessed by the jury after 1 July. The jury will then select the most striking and successful initiatives which will be considered for various prizes.
Sustainable Tuesday will make recommendations to the Cabinet based on all the entries sent in. On Tuesday, 4 September 2012, all the initiatives will be symbolically handed over to a government representative in the Sustainable Tuesday Suitcase. All the prizewinners will also be announced on 4 September.
Keep an eye on the website for more information about the nominees and the winners.
What is Sustainable Tuesday?
Sustainable Tuesday demands attention for innovative sustainable ideas put forward by the general public, ideas that will contribute towards strengthening sustainable practices in the Netherlands. Sustainable Tuesday demonstrates to political circles the legislation and regulations that are necessary in order to encourage sustainable innovation and operations. Sustainable Tuesday and its partners also ensure that support is provided from politicians and society in order to accelerate the further development of initiatives. In this way, we are a step closer to putting ideas into tangible practices.
