The Energy Academy Europe (EAE) in Groningen is the leading new institute where education, research and innovation in energy come together. GasTerra, Energy Valley, Groningen University and Hanzehogeschool Groningen are working in close collaboration in the EAE to position the Netherlands and Groningen at the forefront in energy and sustainable fuels.
Noé van Hulst, director of the EAE: 'The EAE brings together knowledge and teaching about energy, making a decisive contribution to the development and modernisation of the international energy supply. A company like GasTerra is involved, because the EAE will train people for the energy sector. We are thinking in very broad terms: we want to train wind turbine mechanics to senior secondary vocational level (MBO) but, as well as the technical side, we are also seeking students who are researching psychological and legal issues.'
