GasTerra has made a case for the creation of this foundation, of which manufacturers and suppliers of central heating boilers are members. The aim of the SPF is to achieve large-scale application of micro- and mini-combined heat and power systems (CHP), which means the combined generation of heat and electricity, in the urban environment. To this end, the SPF initiates and promotes technological developments and it tackles bottlenecks relating to installation technology, regulations and the granting of subsidies. The foundation also works towards achieving proper standardisation. The most important point of interest is the future large-scale introduction of micro-CHPs (HRe boilers). An independent hallmark ‘HRe’ was developed in 2007 that will be officially submitted in 2008.
