Cooling with natural gas
Good results have also been recorded from the use of natural gas for cooling. In 2007 the first tests with heat pumps were carried out in care institutions, where a properly air-conditioned temperature is very desirable in the summer during hot periods. Gas-fired heat pumps are highly efficient and produce less CO2 emissions. Using natural gas for cooling is also advantageous because this means that the electricity grid is less burdened during the summer period. For, as yet, electric cooling plants are mainly used for this work.

CalorCool is the name of the programme covering projects in this area.
