GasTerra trades in natural gas. The focus of the company's operations is on bringing Dutch gas stocks to market in a way that adds value to this hydrocarbon resource. With this approach natural gas represents an economic benefit and it is important to society, and so GasTerra considers it important to be able to have and support a stable and well-filled portfolio as long as possible innovative gas applications for the efficient use of natural gas. Just think, for example, of the HEe domestic boiler, a high efficiency central heating boiler that generates electricity as well as producing heat. Another likely successor to the high efficiency boiler is the hybrid heat pump, a small electrical heat pump combined with a high efficiency boiler. For larger buildings the mini combined heat and power system is more suitable. This is a gas motor that drives a generator and uses the waste heat produced to heat the building. The gas-fired heat pump is another example of the efficient use of natural gas. This takes heat from the outside air or the ground and uses it to heat buildings. We also have high expectations of fuel cells, which convert natural gas into electricity very efficiently. GasTerra takes an active part in the development and introduction of new energy technologies by contributing knowledge and financial support.
